How do I save pictures that i scanned from my HP C4200 printer?

I would suggest you buy a decent power strip and this way you only need one plug converter for the power strip and then plug all of your US devices into the power strip.
What you have to remember though is that these are only plug adapters and that they do not do any voltage conversion.
So if you need to adjust the voltage, and I don't think so with your printer, you will need need a transformer.

You must have a vista laptop and XP desktop where the printer is connected to the XP machine. You have to download the LLTD Responder from microsoft and install it on the XP machine. That way the laptop can see the xp machine on the network. then make sure both machines are in the same workgroup and have file and printer sharing enabled. Disable all firewalls. Now when you browse the network you can see the xp machine and the shared printer. Install that printer as a networked printer and you are good. The fact is that MS crippled many of the networking features in the consumer (Home) versions of Vista. Even the high end versions are tough to network, which is why a lot of companies are waiting for SP1 to come out and fix some of the issues.

I use the HP Photosmart C4280. It worked fine until HP came with upgrades then it started and after 6 months i had 7 copies of the same printer installed by HP. Not nice prints or scans nomore.
I uninstalled the software and reinstalled the software again from my install cd. When all this was ok i went to the startupmenu and blocked everything i could find about HP in the startupmenu, also the IRIS-OCR program. Sometimes the HP people ask me the install update for me: I refuse it. Since then my prints and my scans are more beautifull then before with their updates. So let them stay out of your machine. They only make problems to you.

HP P4015X Printer makes loud noises when printing. Is there a way I can mask or soften the noise?
I recently purchased an HP P4015x. The printer is awesome other then the insanely loud noise it makes when printing. I'm guessing this is normal, but it has begun to disturb my boss who is a few rooms down from the printer. Is there a way I can mask this noise, or at least soften it so it doesn't disturb him? I have a question about my new HP printer?
I just bought this new HP Photosmart C4240 All-in-one: Printer, Scanner, and Copier. It hooked up right, but today I tried to scan a picture of my niece, and it said the USB cable was not connected. I checked and the cable is still connected, so why is it saying that it is disconnected. I would really like to scan some pictures, so that I can put them on MySpace. Thank You for your help.

1. Do a Power Drain Press and hold power on button for 60 sec after unplugging power cable from the wall socket, plug the power Cable directly to the Wall Socket.
2. After each step try to take a copy of a Blank white Paper and see if its Blocking or not.
3. Open the rear access door and clean the rollers and see for paper bits or scraps inside the printer and also remove both ink cartridges and clean the copper contacts on the cartridge as well as inside the printer.
4. Perform a Partial Reset , Turn off the Printer, Unplug the Power cable, Press and hold # and 3 and plug in the Power cable and keep hold of the buttons even after the power cable is Plugged in for 30 sec.
5. Still you face the Problem remove both ink cartridges and Perform NVM Reset Press and hold OK and CANCEL and plug in the Power cable and keep hold of the buttons even after the power cable is Plugged in for 30 sec.
Still problem is there this means there is some hardware problem and needs repair.

In mine, i don't know if it's the same model as yours, you open up from the back. It has a little tab on there, you press on it, and the plastic cover thing comes off. From there you can grab the paper and pull it out. I've found that it can't be done from the front, were you open and see the cartridges. The only way is from the back. It says in the manual that if you take it out from the front, you may damage the print nozzles or whatever those are called.

Well, it'd be too hard to repair the current power supply, but you could look for one with equivalent voltage and same or higher amperage, then just splice the proprietary HP power connector onto the new unit. Seriously, it will work.

The problem is actually with IE7 and it automatically printing using the ';shrink to fit'; option when printing.

I would never buy an OEM cartridge. I like my HP Laserjet 1018, but I'd never pay 60-70 bucks for it. I just go to amazon and find my cartridge there (I type in the HP number for it). Then, I look for ';compatible'; cartridges. I've been doing this for over a year and I've always been pleased with the results. I only pay 25 bucks for them, also. Buying through amazon you always have that as protection as their policy is the buyer is always right. Hi David. In my opinion, refilling with third party cartridges is perfectly fine and one of the most cost effective methods of printing, particularly for those who do a lot of printing.

I would never buy an OEM cartridge. I like my HP Laserjet 1018, but I'd never pay 60-70 bucks for it. I just go to amazon and find my cartridge there (I type in the HP number for it). Then, I look for ';compatible'; cartridges. I've been doing this for over a year and I've always been pleased with the results. I only pay 25 bucks for them, also. Buying through amazon you always have that as protection as their policy is the buyer is always right. Hi David. In my opinion, refilling with third party cartridges is perfectly fine and one of the most cost effective methods of printing, particularly for those who do a lot of printing.

I had absolutely no problems as far as using a 'third-party' thing is concerned. I guess, its just a technical hoax being played by companies so that users only go for their products but yes, one has to keep in mind that the manufacturing quality of these third party kits is not compromised. I am trying to restore old photos and when I achieve the results I want, my printer is shades off from what is diplayed on the screen. I have a new computer with Windows Vista software. My ink supplies are adequate, the photo paper is of high standard and and I select ';Best'; print to achieve a high quality photo. The monitor works on an RGB Spectrum and the printer works on a CMYK spectrum. Sadly the colors almost never match exactly, If you can, in your print properties set up different color profiles by printing a small colour block and adjusting the saturation's to match what is on the screen. Do this for every shade that is in the cartridge. (the color profiles can be found in your advanced print properties.)
If you are printing black and white photos it may serve you well to get a photo grey cartridge. (no. 59) Normal greyscale printing uses colours, not shades of grey which results in an often reddish or green toned photo.

The faster printers get, the more noise they are likely to produce. Combined with the fact that these are very compact printers printing at a very fast speed, the case being plastic and there is basically no sound deadening material inside, these printers will produce more sound compared to a slower machine. I think these are expected to be used in high volume offices that have printer/copy rooms, or where noise is not much of an issue and they are isolated away from offices and users. There is really no easy and aesthetic way to quiet these in a small office environment that you've described without enclosing them in an acoustic enclosure (which reduces accessibility and potential cooling problems) or in a separate room.

install software before switching on printer
