after scanning pic or what so ever, computer will prompts the user to save it as a jpeg or bmp(bitmap) this file name format serves as your file, and this will save through computer as a default storage, c: then documents and settings, user accounts name, my document, my pictures
There are several options. I go to Windows Photo Gallery and click on FILE at the top.
In the drop down menu select IMPORT FROM CAMERA OR SCANNER. your scanned pictures will then be in pictures and in windows photo gallery.
normally, by default scanned images if saved to computer would be under

I have a HP Photosmart 2610 Printer. It told me that I needed to check my right cartridge. I did, but there's nothing wrong with it. I'm positive that there's ink in it, since it started telling me to check cartridge about 3 months ago. I had only printed about 6 pieces of paper. Do you have a HP printer cause I have a question?
When it gives you the Low Ink Warning, how many pages can it print until there is actually no ink left?Do you have a HP printer cause I have a question?
Low ink warnings usually come when 20% of the ink is left.
On a 500 page yield cartidge that would mean 100 pages using the standard 5% page coverage measure.

Philip TDo you have a HP printer cause I have a question?
42.....
Who can really answer that without knowing what your ink levels are indeed reporting and how much content your planning on printing and the font size that will really play a large part.
we use to have a hp....I would guess around 90 - 100....I know the epson says 100 pages left to print....hp was a good printer...
i had a Hp printer %26amp; it was the best ever! but when it gets low it wont last too long especially the colored ink.
I'm afraid it's impossible to tell as it will depend on how much ink you use on each page. Given that every page it different there's really no way of knowing for sure.
Hope this helps

Can I plug a 40 watt maximum HP Printer into a 300 watt transformer over here in Germany?
the printer manual says:
input voltage -- AC 100 to 240 V ~ 1 A 50-60 Hz, grounded
output voltage: DC 32 V===940 mA, 16 V===625 mA
i have no clue what any of this means. i just don't want to blow anything up. help! Can I plug a 40 watt maximum HP Printer into a 300 watt transformer over here in Germany?
Voltag in Germany is 240V I think? If so, then yes. Your printer can be plugged in just about anywhere. Use an adaptor, not a transformer.
Wattage is a measure of power. It's like saying, if you have HUGE musclse, can you lift a little weight. Yes, you can.Can I plug a 40 watt maximum HP Printer into a 300 watt transformer over here in Germany?
You will need a European plug adapter. See source below for a picture.
I would suggest you buy a decent power strip and this way you only need one plug converter for the power strip and then plug all of your US devices into the power strip.
What you have to remember though is that these are only plug adapters and that they do not do any voltage conversion.
So if you need to adjust the voltage, and I don't think so with your printer, you will need need a transformer.
Good luck!
Printers do not have Output Voltage. I checked the HP webpage and the Idiots do no list the voltage requirements. Go to a store that sells HP and ask them, it's the safest thing.

How to add an hp printer to a local home network?
the printer is configured to share, but when my laptop tries to find it on the network, it isn't listed. i tried to manually add it by location, but nothing is listed for the printer's location. i want to try to add it by ip address but don't know how to add it or find its current one. any help on this is greatly appreciated . thnxHow to add an hp printer to a local home network?
You must have a vista laptop and XP desktop where the printer is connected to the XP machine. You have to download the LLTD Responder from microsoft and install it on the XP machine. That way the laptop can see the xp machine on the network. then make sure both machines are in the same workgroup and have file and printer sharing enabled. Disable all firewalls. Now when you browse the network you can see the xp machine and the shared printer. Install that printer as a networked printer and you are good. Just remember to re-enable the firewalls after. How to add an hp printer to a local home network?
If the computers are shared (on same workgroup) and can see eachother, then whatever computer your printer in plugged into, the other computers should be able to see. Make sure printer and file sharing is on. Its under Network properties.
I'm assuming that the printer is physically connected to a computer on the network
1. Make sure you have file and print sharing enabled on both machines
2. make sure the machines are in the same work group
3. Make sure you can see the other computer in ';Work group Computers';
A couple of ways to get the IP address
1. check the router DHCP client status page. It will list all the IP addresses assigned
2. Go to the computer - open a DOS window - enter ipconfig /a
You'll see the current IP address there
If either machine has Vista for an OS - I'm sorry! I feel your pain!
The fact is that MS crippled many of the networking features in the consumer (Home) versions of Vista. Even the high end versions are tough to network, which is why a lot of companies are waiting for SP1 to come out and fix some of the issues.

How does one update the driver for an HP inkjet printer when using Windows Vista?
My Windows Vista does not not have a driver for an HP Inkjet Printer. After I have downloaded the driver from Internet how do I install the driver in Windows VistaHow does one update the driver for an HP inkjet printer when using Windows Vista?
Just double click the file you downloaded. It should load an install wizard or auto install with no required input, depends on the printer. Another simple method to update drivers, which I prefer, is to use automatic driver update software. Go to http://www.pcdriverupdate.com and get their free scan. It will quickly show you which driver updates are available for your system. You can easily remove old drivers and update to newest drivers in just a few clicks. I definitely recommend it and to do regular scans with the software to make sure your system is up to date and running at its best.

Why does my hp printer keep printing the test page whenever I start printing?
I have heard that first answer thrown around before, urban legend or not, I'm not sure. Itr would be highly irregular for a company to make it's printer print a test page every time you used it until you scanned the page, but if any company would do such a cruel joke it would be HP.
In Xerox devices this is a driver setting.
Try this: right-click the printer from the START-PRINTERS AND FAXES option, and select properties. Look around for a radio button that says ';print test page at startup';, or ';before each job';. Poke arount the ';printing preferences'; option also, look on every tab for something that would cause this. good luck! Why does my hp printer keep printing the test page whenever I start printing?
do print test... then scan the test paper in the scanner this should solve the problem....

HP Printer reconfigures everytime I turn it on?
my HP C6280 reconfigures everytime I turn it on (I turn on the printer after I turn on my computer usually)? Any idea on how to make it stop?HP Printer reconfigures everytime I turn it on?
I think we encounter the same problem i had before.
I use the HP Photosmart C4280. It worked fine until HP came with upgrades then it started and after 6 months i had 7 copies of the same printer installed by HP. Not nice prints or scans nomore.
I uninstalled the software and reinstalled the software again from my install cd. When all this was ok i went to the startupmenu and blocked everything i could find about HP in the startupmenu, also the IRIS-OCR program. Sometimes the HP people ask me the install update for me: I refuse it. Since then my prints and my scans are more beautifull then before with their updates. So let them stay out of your machine. They only make problems to you.

First, log in as administrator or with an account that has administrative rights. un-install the HP drivers completely.
Now, power on the HP and unplyb the USB cable from the printer. Re-install your software and let the program notify you to connect the USB cable to the printer. Connect it, and the software will complete its installation.
Reboot and windows will find the new hardware. Print a test page and it will work.

Is there any way to hook up a HP printer from a Mac to a PC?
They are on the same internet. I have no clue at all how you would do it, but for some reason my printer on my PC stopped working so I want what I do on this computer to be printed automatically to the Mac in the other room. It is a Mac OS X 10.4.1Is there any way to hook up a HP printer from a Mac to a PC?
Are you trying to share the printer? I am not really sure if that can be done between an PC and a Mac. You may be better off to move the printer from the Mac to the PC and download the drivers for it. Also, maybe just replace the printer on the PC, they are very cheap now days. Ohh, and one more thing, you probably meant to say same network. All regular people computers in the world are in the same Internet.oper

HP P4015X Printer makes loud noises when printing. Is there a way I can mask or soften the noise?
I recently purchased an HP P4015x. The printer is awesome other then the insanely loud noise it makes when printing. I'm guessing this is normal, but it has begun to disturb my boss who is a few rooms down from the printer. Is there a way I can mask this noise, or at least soften it so it doesn't disturb him? Has anyone else had this problem with the P4015x? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!!HP P4015X Printer makes loud noises when printing. Is there a way I can mask or soften the noise?
Most printers make a noise, some are definitely louder than others, but, if it is loud enough to be heared a few rooms aweay, especially if the doors are closed, I would recommend taking it back.
You could go to a store and ask them to try it out as you need a quiet printer, then you can have a sound check.

How do I get my desktop to recognize my HP wireless printer?
I have a desktop that I use a verizon card for internet service. I purchased a wireless HP printer today. Is there any way that I can get my computer to recognize this printer? ThanksHow do I get my desktop to recognize my HP wireless printer?
Verizon ';wireless internet'; is NOT the same kind of ';wireless'; as the printer uses,
the Verizon is essentially a data mobile phone in a card
the printer uses Wifi (local networking on wireless)
To use the printer you'd need a wireless router, or you need to plug a cable into the printer.

I just bought this new HP Photosmart C4240 All-in-one: Printer, Scanner, and Copier. It hooked up right, but today I tried to scan a picture of my niece, and it said the USB cable was not connected. I checked and the cable is still connected, so why is it saying that it is disconnected. I would really like to scan some pictures, so that I can put them on MySpace. Thank You for your help.

Turn printer off and on. You can go to the hp site and get the latest software and reinstall. Make sure USB is connected to printer and pc. Connect USB directly to PC and not like a port on your monitor. Connect something else to that usb and see if it's working.
