God, wish I knew that! I had a printer years ago and it was so easy, you just turned off the ink indicator thing or made it appear full and the printer kept on churning out blank sheets having printed noisily all over them first. Secret messages etc.
Get a dot matrix printer - noisey but if all you want to do is print type so what? They do the job and you can squirt any ink you like in the reservoir etc.

New cartridges have have chips in them that will not allow them to be refilled.

How do you change the font size on hp j6480 printer?
Works great but when I print things like Google directions, the font size is very small. I know I can change the ';view'; on my screen but I can't locate how to change the default font size on the printer.How do you change the font size on hp j6480 printer?
Printers do not have ';default print font or size';.
The problem is actually with IE7 and it automatically printing using the ';shrink to fit'; option when printing.

How do I use the scanner for my HP psc printer?
I put my picture onto the scanner, but when I press scan it does nothing. Do I need to install a program or check into something for it to work? Can someone tell me from start to finish, please?

Even though you installed the scanner correctly, you would need to go in the HP folder on your start menu and click on HP Solution Center.
You will see the SCAN button on the left. If you press it, it will automatically operate your scanner. Nothing special to do from this point. Just put your document face down on the glass, select Scan from the program and the light will come on. :)
Now if you didn't install the softwre, remove the USB cable from the HP, and power it on. Insert your CD and do a fresh install. You will re-connect the USB to the HP only when the program tells you. Let it finish and REBOOT the computer.

How reliable is it to buy a third party or compatible laser printer cartridge for my HP laser printer?
I have a HP 1012 laser printer. I need another printer cartridge refill. The off brand laser printer cartridges I see online are about half price compared to the HP brand itself. A lot of the companies selling the off brand printer cartridges get good reviews online. Would you recommend buying a new offbrand laser printer cartridge from one of them? How reliable is it to buy a third party or compatible laser printer cartridge for my HP laser printer?
I would never buy an OEM cartridge. I like my HP Laserjet 1018, but I'd never pay 60-70 bucks for it. I just go to amazon and find my cartridge there (I type in the HP number for it). Then, I look for ';compatible'; cartridges. I've been doing this for over a year and I've always been pleased with the results. I only pay 25 bucks for them, also. Buying through amazon you always have that as protection as their policy is the buyer is always right. How reliable is it to buy a third party or compatible laser printer cartridge for my HP laser printer?
Hi David. In my opinion, refilling with third party cartridges is perfectly fine and one of the most cost effective methods of printing, particularly for those who do a lot of printing.
I have been printing quite a lot of pages lately because of my thesis and I guess my printing budget would have gone at least three-fold higher if my room-mate hadn't gone for refilling my HP printer with the one like this: http://www.printcountry.com/refill_kit_v鈥?/a>
I had absolutely no problems as far as using a 'third-party' thing is concerned. I guess, its just a technical hoax being played by companies so that users only go for their products but yes, one has to keep in mind that the manufacturing quality of these third party kits is not compromised. So, if you do decide to go for a third party refill, make sure the player is in game for quite a while and is playing fair and square, know what I mean?

check your local walgreens.they have good deals here. 10$ for black and 15$ for color.even had them free one day

How do I get the exact color displayed on PC screen to print from HP D7650 printer exact?
I am trying to restore old photos and when I achieve the results I want, my printer is shades off from what is diplayed on the screen. I have a new computer with Windows Vista software. My ink supplies are adequate, the photo paper is of high standard and and I select ';Best'; print to achieve a high quality photo. The result is a great photo but the color is no where near what I worked to get.How do I get the exact color displayed on PC screen to print from HP D7650 printer exact?
The monitor works on an RGB Spectrum and the printer works on a CMYK spectrum. Sadly the colors almost never match exactly, If you can, in your print properties set up different color profiles by printing a small colour block and adjusting the saturation's to match what is on the screen. Do this for every shade that is in the cartridge. (the color profiles can be found in your advanced print properties.)
If you are printing black and white photos it may serve you well to get a photo grey cartridge. (no. 59) Normal greyscale printing uses colours, not shades of grey which results in an often reddish or green toned photo.
