I have a desktop that I use a verizon card for internet service. I purchased a wireless HP printer today. Is there any way that I can get my computer to recognize this printer? ThanksHow do I get my desktop to recognize my HP wireless printer?
Verizon ';wireless internet'; is NOT the same kind of ';wireless'; as the printer uses,
the Verizon is essentially a data mobile phone in a card
the printer uses Wifi (local networking on wireless)
To use the printer you'd need a wireless router, or you need to plug a cable into the printer.

I have a question about my new HP printer?
I just bought this new HP Photosmart C4240 All-in-one: Printer, Scanner, and Copier. It hooked up right, but today I tried to scan a picture of my niece, and it said the USB cable was not connected. I checked and the cable is still connected, so why is it saying that it is disconnected. I would really like to scan some pictures, so that I can put them on MySpace. Thank You for your help.

Turn printer off and on. You can go to the hp site and get the latest software and reinstall. Make sure USB is connected to printer and pc. Connect USB directly to PC and not like a port on your monitor. Connect something else to that usb and see if it's working.

Before calling do this Steps.
1. Do a Power Drain Press and hold power on button for 60 sec after unplugging power cable from the wall socket, plug the power Cable directly to the Wall Socket.
2. After each step try to take a copy of a Blank white Paper and see if its Blocking or not.
3. Open the rear access door and clean the rollers and see for paper bits or scraps inside the printer and also remove both ink cartridges and clean the copper contacts on the cartridge as well as inside the printer.
4. Perform a Partial Reset , Turn off the Printer, Unplug the Power cable, Press and hold # and 3 and plug in the Power cable and keep hold of the buttons even after the power cable is Plugged in for 30 sec.
5. Still you face the Problem remove both ink cartridges and Perform NVM Reset Press and hold OK and CANCEL and plug in the Power cable and keep hold of the buttons even after the power cable is Plugged in for 30 sec.
Still problem is there this means there is some hardware problem and needs repair.

In mine, i don't know if it's the same model as yours, you open up from the back. It has a little tab on there, you press on it, and the plastic cover thing comes off. From there you can grab the paper and pull it out. I've found that it can't be done from the front, were you open and see the cartridges. The only way is from the back. It says in the manual that if you take it out from the front, you may damage the print nozzles or whatever those are called.
i tihnk i know how to do it but i dont know wat model it is. first lift up the part of the printer that lets you access the ink catridges. then slowly but carefully pull the paper out. MAKE SURE YOU UNPLUG THE PRINTER FIRST! or you can try to restart the printer if its a simple jam
There should be a door in the back . push toward the ctr,, carefully loosen the paper on one end and hit ';OK'; on the top of the printer. It should work, if not you might have a malfunction like I just did %26amp; they replaced mine. Mine was 5 months old, and they replaced mine with a remanufactured one, I thought that was kind of a cheap think.
slowly and carefully, if u are impatient u will rip it more and make it harder to fix.... open the printer (the top should sort of fold back) and find the paper, if u cant see it, see if you can take off the back... when u fiund it pullit slowly and gently untill u get it...

Ive got a hp printer with a photo tray for 5 x 7 inch photo-paper, how do i get my computer to print on it?
It doesn't tell me in the manufactures guide, or the part that I have anyway. Its a C5280 hp printer.. its fine to print on a4 paper but i don't know how to get regular sized photos to print out.
