Voltag in Germany is 240V I think? If so, then yes. Your printer can be plugged in just about anywhere. Use an adaptor, not a transformer.

You will need a European plug adapter. See source below for a picture.
I would suggest you buy a decent power strip and this way you only need one plug converter for the power strip and then plug all of your US devices into the power strip.
What you have to remember though is that these are only plug adapters and that they do not do any voltage conversion.
So if you need to adjust the voltage, and I don't think so with your printer, you will need need a transformer.

Printers do not have Output Voltage. I checked the HP webpage and the Idiots do no list the voltage requirements. Go to a store that sells HP and ask them, it's the safest thing.

How to add an hp printer to a local home network?
the printer is configured to share, but when my laptop tries to find it on the network, it isn't listed. i tried to manually add it by location, but nothing is listed for the printer's location. i want to try to add it by ip address but don't know how to add it or find its current one. any help on this is greatly appreciated . thnxHow to add an hp printer to a local home network?
You must have a vista laptop and XP desktop where the printer is connected to the XP machine. You have to download the LLTD Responder from microsoft and install it on the XP machine. That way the laptop can see the xp machine on the network. then make sure both machines are in the same workgroup and have file and printer sharing enabled. Disable all firewalls. Now when you browse the network you can see the xp machine and the shared printer. Install that printer as a networked printer and you are good. If the computers are shared (on same workgroup) and can see eachother, then whatever computer your printer in plugged into, the other computers should be able to see. Make sure printer and file sharing is on. Its under Network properties.
I'm assuming that the printer is physically connected to a computer on the network
1. Make sure you have file and print sharing enabled on both machines
2. make sure the machines are in the same work group
3. Make sure you can see the other computer in ';Work group Computers';
A couple of ways to get the IP address
1. check the router DHCP client status page. It will list all the IP addresses assigned
2. Go to the computer - open a DOS window - enter ipconfig /a
You'll see the current IP address there
If either machine has Vista for an OS - I'm sorry! I feel your pain!
The fact is that MS crippled many of the networking features in the consumer (Home) versions of Vista. Even the high end versions are tough to network, which is why a lot of companies are waiting for SP1 to come out and fix some of the issues.

I definitely recommend it and to do regular scans with the software to make sure your system is up to date and running at its best.

Why does my hp printer keep printing the test page whenever I start printing?
I have heard that first answer thrown around before, urban legend or not, I'm not sure. Itr would be highly irregular for a company to make it's printer print a test page every time you used it until you scanned the page, but if any company would do such a cruel joke it would be HP.
In Xerox devices this is a driver setting.
Try this: right-click the printer from the START-PRINTERS AND FAXES option, and select properties. Look around for a radio button that says ';print test page at startup';, or ';before each job';. HP Printer reconfigures everytime I turn it on?

I think we encounter the same problem i had before.
I use the HP Photosmart C4280. It worked fine until HP came with upgrades then it started and after 6 months i had 7 copies of the same printer installed by HP. Not nice prints or scans nomore.
I uninstalled the software and reinstalled the software again from my install cd. When all this was ok i went to the startupmenu and blocked everything i could find about HP in the startupmenu, also the IRIS-OCR program. Sometimes the HP people ask me the install update for me: I refuse it. Since then my prints and my scans are more beautifull then before with their updates. So let them stay out of your machine. They only make problems to you.

I just bought an Acer computer - Aspire X1200 - and the system does allow me to install my HP printer.Help pls?
While trying to set up my HP printer, I keep getting the following message: ';this system does not meet one minimum requirement needed to install this product. The installation cannot continue.'; In particular, the message indicates that the issue is ADMINISTRATOR RIGHTS.
