well I'm just guessing but
if you go Start - Settings - Control Panel ... Printers ... right-click your printer and select Properties .... on one of those tabs there's probably an option that says ';print test page on startup'; (or something) - uncheck it.How do I get my HP printer to stop printing that test color page everytime I turn it on?
one of the two ink carts is empty or defective. Find out which one it is. Replace it and it will be fine.
Don't turn it off.
It wants to check itself every time it turns off because it doesn't know if something has been reset or not. So just keep it on all the time. Just because it is hooked up to your computer and you turn off your computer doesn't mean that you need to turn your printer off too.
