How can I set my USB HP Printer to print over the network at home?

The printer is running from the main computer via its USB in the kitchen and I have a laptop that I use that I will need to print from to the printer in the kitchen. What am I doing wrong? How can I set my USB HP Printer to print over the network at home?
Step 1:

In the computer where the printer is installed, go to CONTROL PANEL, then PRINTERS. Then find the printer you want to share, right click it, and go to properties, then go to the sharing tab, and check the box for SHARE PRINTER, then hit OK.

Step 2:

On the computer that you want to be able to use your now shared printer, got to CONTROL PANEL, PRINTERS, and then on the left (if winxp) click on ';Add New Printer';, or double click the new printer icon. The 2nd window should let you choose between local printer and network printer, click network printer... a menu will pop up that'll let you browse to the shared printer on the other computer. Click install.

DONE!How can I set my USB HP Printer to print over the network at home?
you need to set it up as a shared printer.. and turn on printer sharing..

control panel %26gt; printers %26gt; right click ';sharing'; turn that on =)
i had the same problem with my printer, hp also the problem i had, you have sincronise them together
It won't work if it dosen't have wireless networking built in.

Hope this Helps

Bye
You wont get the laptop to send any printing job to your desktop unless you have a print server on your network, then you can initialise print sharing
