Recently when I tried printing up a paper from microsoft word, my printer did nothing. It showed that the document was sent to the printer, but it never responded with the printed document. My printer will print a scanned document, so its not just the printer. Not sure if its Vista or something else. Any clue on what to do?HP Printer not responding to windows vista, or computer in general, what do I do?
Check to see that the printer isn't Paused, this way (Note: Some of this may require you to have Administrator privileges)
In Windows XP:
1. Click the Start-%26gt;Control Panel menu item.
2. Click Printers and Other Hardware.
3. Click View Printers and Faxes.
4. Double-click the printer you want. If you have several printers, make sure the one you're trying to print to is the default one (has a check mark next to it).
5. On the Printer dialog, if you see a bunch of Document Names, that's where your print jobs have been going. You might want to select some and delete them with the Document-%26gt;Cancel menu item.
6. Click the Printer menu item and see if Pause Printing is checked. If it is, click it to uncheck it.
In Vista:
1. Click the Windows Button-%26gt;Control Panel menu item.
2. Under Hardware and Sound, click Printer.
3. Continue with Step 4, above.
Hope that helps.HP Printer not responding to windows vista, or computer in general, what do I do?
Right click on the little printer icon in the bottom right side of your start menu and cancel all the print jobs in the window that pops up (if there are any) that are in the queue. Turn off the printer, then your computer, check all your printer cables to ensure they're connected properly. Then turn the printer back on first and the computer after. It should print just fine after that. If not try re-installing your printer software.
