the printer connects to laptop by usb but when i connect it says put installation software which i no longer have , So what can i do to have the computer recognize the printer?Im connecting hp printer to laptop but do not have installation cd can i still add printer?
You can go directly to HP.com, search for your model printer and download the printer driver. You should create a special folder on your computer just for these files and you should be all set. Have your model number written down and look online at the HP site for the drivers to your model. Download them to your computer and install them. Then you may have to restart your computer for the computer to load the drivers for your printer.
