I want to buy a printer but i don't know if i should base my decision on the name brand or not.Is a hp printer better than a brother printer because of the name brand?
Brand name doesn't matter. You have to look at what you are going to be printing. Then look at the pages per minute, and the pages per cartridge. I have 7 printers. They are all for different printing tasks. I use the HP for text because it does get a lot of descent pages in a relatively short amount of time and its good on ink. I use MY Epson R260 for printing on fabric and CD/DVD. I use my Lexmark for PDF and Letters. Do your homework. I do recommend HP, not for the name, but it has always been a dependable printer for me.Is a hp printer better than a brother printer because of the name brand?
In my office I have both a Brother and an HP. In my oinion neither one is better than the other. They do the same job.
if its inkjet i wouldnt pay much either way .. get the cheapest one u can find .. replace it when the ink runs out ..
My company and I ALWAYS go HP
Name does have a little bit to do about the printer. Like many of the answerers to your question mentioned, they like HP brand printers as a whole. I myself use HP printers because over the years they have proven the most reliable (PC Magazine's readers have chosen HP as the most reliable printer the past 15 years in a row).
Now, that doesn't mean that every HP printer will work perfectly fine for you. It's always good to read several reviews on any printer you are considering. Every company (HP included) will occasionally unkowingly send a lemon of a product out into the market.
Brother printers do offer a lot of features for the price and several people swear by Brother printers, but they have not proven to be as reliable as HP.
When purchasing a printer, people often make the mistake of looking for the cheapest solution. But remember, when it comes to printers you really do get what you pay for. For my work I deal a lot with printers and helping people find the right printer for their specific needs. Here are the printers that I recommend to people for varying situations:
Print/Copy/Scan/Photos: HP Photosmart C5180 (HP Photosmart C6180 or C7180 if you need fax)
For offices that want a cheap printing solution I recommend the new lineup of HP L7000 series printers (L7580).
Brother sucks on printers. Went thru 4 in a 6 month period. They kept sending me refurbs to replace the ones that pooped out.
Went with a Lexmark and have had great use with no problems for the past 2 years (knocking on wood)
In my office we have HP's and Epsons. Used to have Brother and had similar issues that I had at home.
Brother does make other good products just not printers!
name brand dosent really mater. or atleast i dont care about it i just like hp.
